Signals: Agent Inbox

Support

Signals is an inbox on your iPhone for the AI coding agents running on your Mac.

What Signals does

Agents can work for hours. They finish a task, hit a question, or reach a risky step such as a deploy or a force-push, and then they wait for you. Signals shows all of that on your iPhone, one topic per piece of work. You reply by text, voice or photo, approve or deny requests, and mark topics done, and your agent picks up the answer.

Your iPhone and your Mac talk through your own iCloud account. On the Mac, the free Signals Relay app passes messages between iCloud and the Signals board your agent uses.

What you need

Frequently asked questions

My replies aren't reaching my agent. What should I check?

Open the topic and look at the status under your message (Sending, Sent, Received, Read). Then check, in this order:

  • Is the Mac asleep? Replies wait in iCloud and are delivered when the Mac wakes. Keep it awake while you expect answers.
  • Is Signals Relay running? Look for it on the Mac and open it again if it quit.
  • Same iCloud account? The iPhone and the Mac must be signed in to the same Apple Account, with iCloud turned on for both.
  • Is the agent connected? The agent has to be running and connected to the Signals board to read your answer.
I'm not getting notifications.

Go to Settings › Notifications › Signals on your iPhone and allow notifications. Check that a Focus mode isn't silencing them. Notifications come through iCloud, so the iPhone needs iCloud and a network connection, and Signals Relay must be running on your Mac. You can reply or mark a topic done straight from the notification.

The board is empty or asks me to sign in to iCloud.

Sign in to iCloud in the iPhone's Settings, with the same account your Mac uses. The board fills in once Signals Relay on the Mac has synced and your agent has posted something.

Does dictation send my voice anywhere?

Signals never stores your audio and never sends it to us. Dictation uses Apple's speech recognition, on your iPhone when the device supports it. The words appear as text you can edit before sending. See the Privacy Policy.

How do I delete my data?

Everything Signals stores is in your own iCloud. To remove it, delete the app, then on your iPhone go to Settings › [your name] › iCloud › Manage Storage (Manage Account Storage on some versions), choose Signals and delete its data. We hold no copy, so there is nothing to ask us to delete.

Do I need an account?

No. There is no sign-up and no login. Signals works with the iCloud account already on your devices.
