TRICARE MNT coverage: codes and limits
The short answerTRICARE covers MNT by a TRICARE-authorized, state-licensed registered dietitian under a supervising physician, for conditions that include obesity, diabetes, renal disease and cardiovascular risk factors, but not general wellness counseling. Diabetes and renal counseling is limited to 3 hours the first year and 2 hours after; obesity interventions to 12 to 26 sessions a year.
