Telehealth Billing and Compliance for Dietitians
A telehealth MNT visit uses the same CPT codes as an in-person one, but the claim has to say where the patient was: place of service 10 when they are at home, 02 when they are somewhere else, plus modifier 95 when the payer asks for it. Payers do not all agree, so the rules are worth checking per plan. These guides cover telehealth claims, licensure when a client lives in another state, and consent when you record a session.
